PRP (platelet rich plasma) is created when a small amount of blood is drawn and placed in a centrifuge and spun at a high rate of speed. This separates the red blood cells from the plasma. PRF (platelet rich fibrin) is similar to PRP and is created using a slightly different process. A small amount of blood is drawn from the patient and placed into a special tube which is then put into a centrifuge and spun at a lower rate of speed. This process creates a thicker concentration of plasma and fibrin. The fibrin allows for a much slower release of the growth factors. PRF has about 10x as many growth factors as PRP. Since PRF tubes have no anticoagulant in them, they are 100% natural.
